Clos Saint Denis

Clos Saint-Denis is often considered as a little sister of the adjacent Clos de la Roche. Smaller in size and with a little more clay in the soil, the wines are usually more feminine and fragrant. Despite it is nowhere close to the direction of Chambolle-Musigny, many wine critics think this is the most Chambolle-like of the 4 Morey-Saint-Denis grand crus.

Dujac is the producer that has both Clos Saint-Denis and Clos de la Roche. You can find a bottle of each and taste them side by side and compare the difference in climat. Domaine Arlaud, Ponsot, Drouhin and Louis Jadot also gave good results.
