Griotte Chambertin

Griotte-Chambertin is the smallest of all the grand crus in Gevrey-Chambertin. The 2.73 ha grand cru lies between Charmes-Chambertin and Chaplle-Chambertin on the downslope of the Route des Grands Crus.

Among the “downslope” grand crus, Griotte-Chambertin is probably the most interesting one, maybe due to the ownership of some very good winemakers. Most of the time it is gentle and soft but also very well balanced in terms of intensity or finesse. A seductive wine, especially when made by Fourrier and Joseph Drouhin. Joseph Roty and Claude Dugat are reputable sources too.
