The 12.9 ha grand cru is owned by around 25 families but 4 of them (Armand Rousseau, Jean & Jean-Louis Trapet, Rossignol-Trapet and Camus) owned more than half of the area.

Full, firm, rich, concentrated and masculine, Chambertin is the King of Burgundy. The wine here is sturdy, tannin, and definitely requires time of at least a decade to soften. Yet with patience and proper cellaring, Chambertin is aspired to be truly magnificent grand cru from Burgundy with great structure and rich flavours.

Armand Rousseau is definitely the top producer of this famous grand cru, yet there are also great bottles from Leroy, Jean-Louis Trapet, Dujac, Dugat-Py, Denis Mortet and Ponsot.
