Chambertin Clos de Beze

Clos de Bèze is located right next to Chambertin on the northern side. It can be bottled and labeled as Chambertin, but not vice versa. The 15.4 ha grand cru is slightly larger than Chambertin, but owned by fewer proprietors. Clos de Bèze and Chambertin lie on the same altitude but the incline here is slightly steeper.

From the best producers and with proper cellaring, both Clos de Bèze and Chambertin are the top wines in the region. When compared side by side, Clos de Bèze is slightly more complex and delicate, with more grace, yet still with great structure and tannin backbone.

Armand Rousseau lead the league here, while Dujac, Joseph Drouhin, Louis Jadot are also fine sources of Clos de Bèze.
