Bonnes Mares

Bonnes Mares is at the northern end of the village of Chambolle-Musigny, adjacent to Clos de Tart of Morey-Saint-Denis. A small part of this 15.06 ha grand cru is actually in the Morey-Saint-Denis village. Ownership is very scattered with at least 22 proprietors.

Despite being situated around the same village, Bonnes Mares is quite a different wine to Le Musigny. It usually comes with more power, tannin, firmness and volume. It is often described as a fist in a velvet glove. Expression can vary among winemakers and the geographical location of the plots. Bonnes Mares coming from the Morey-Saint-Denis end are usually more muscular and vigorous.
